Personal Support Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Personal Support Assistant to join our team at Thrive Group Canada. As a Personal Support Assistant, you will provide non-medical personal support services, life-skills support, and light housekeeping duties to enable clients to live as independently as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Arrange and escort clients to appointments
  • Provide light housekeeping services, including cleaning and laundry
  • Support clients with life-skills, such as meal preparation and medication management

Requirements:

  • Experience in the provision of personal support services to people with disabilities and/or seniors
  • Additional certification in personal support care, first aid, health care, or other related qualification preferred
  • Ability to empathize with people with physical and emotional needs
  • Knowledge of basic math and ability to do calculations and quantity measurements
  • Ability to plan and organize work and perform tasks according to priority
  • Ability to make solid decisions and problem-solve effectively
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with a competent level of English
  • Able to communicate in other languages is an asset
  • Must demonstrate high commitment to providing exceptional customer service and be reliable, punctual, and capable of managing time effectively
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships and work collaboratively with clients, family members, colleagues, volunteers, and community partners
  • Must be able to take direction and work independently as well as part of a team
  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check or Criminal Reference Check is required

Job Type: Part-time, Permanent
