Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced General Manager - Transportation Operations to lead our transportation operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our transportation department, ensuring that our services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Allocate Resources: Allocate material, human, and financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs.
  2. Establish Departments: Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions.
  3. Coordinate Operations: Co-ordinate the work of regions, divisions, or departments.
  4. Financial Management: Establish financial and administrative controls; formulate and approve promotional campaigns; and approve overall human resources planning.
  5. Objectives and Policies: Establish objectives for the organization and formulate or approve policies and programs.
  6. Representation: Represent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions.
  7. Staff Selection: Select middle managers, directors, or other executive staff; delegate the necessary authority to them and create optimum working conditions.
Supervision and Team Management

The General Manager - Transportation Operations will be responsible for supervising a team of 5-10 people and will be expected to provide guidance, support, and direction to ensure the successful delivery of our transportation services.

Computer and Technology Skills
  1. Microsoft Office: Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  2. Microsoft Outlook: Experienced in using MS Outlook for email and calendar management.
  3. Microsoft Windows: Familiar with MS Windows operating system.
Security and Safety

The General Manager - Transportation Operations will be responsible for ensuring that all employees undergo a criminal record check prior to commencing employment.

Experience and Education

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in a similar role. Experience in the transportation industry would be an asset.
