Human Resource Manager

 

This position is responsible for leading the human resources function, with a focus on labor relations, contract administration, employee performance and development, recruiting, EHS, and compliance with applicable labor and employment law. Directs and coordinates human resources activities in these areas by performing duties personally or through subordinates.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety:
  • Ensures a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and practices.
  • Quality:
  • Maintains quality guidelines, procedures, and standards throughout the manufacturing operation.
  • Customer-Focused:
  • Provides professional and confidential assistance to other functional groups on human resource related issues.
  • Responsibility & Customer-Focused:
  • Celebrates diversity and promotes a harassment-free workplace.
  • Communication:
  • Manages both training for manufacturing and environmental, safety and health roles.
  • Interface with Other Systems:
  • Coordinates interface with other internal systems, such as payroll, to ensure accuracy of records pertinent to benefits and policy; time and attendance, vacation, FMLA eligibility and use, 401(k), medical, dental, and disability benefits.
  • Labor Relations:
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Recruitment & Hiring:
  • Recruits, interviews, tests, evaluates and helps the hiring manager select among candidates for vacant positions.
  • Employee Relations:
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Advice & Support:
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs and provides professional advice accordingly.
  • Budgeting & Compliance:
  • Assists with budget of human resources operations.
  • Policy Development:
  • Writes directives advising department managers of company policy and benefits.
  • Contract Negotiations:
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and labor contract.
  • Conflict Resolution:
  • Represents management in labor contract negotiations or serves as resource to negotiators by providing information on provisions of current contract and significance of proposed changes.
  • Grievances & Security:
  • Records grievances filed and ensures company compliance with contractual grievance process.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties requested by manager.
  • Database Management:
  • Maintains database for all employee identification badges and helps oversee security system.
  • Event Coordination:
  • Celebrates employee relations events.
