Job Summary

The Help Desk Technician will provide technical support to all users within the Farris organization, troubleshooting and resolving computer, printer, and phone-related issues. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve technical issues reported through the IT helpdesk and phone system.
  • Document internal procedures and solutions to improve knowledge sharing and efficiency.
  • Assist with the onboarding of new users, ensuring a smooth transition to the organization's technology infrastructure.
  • Install, test, and configure new workstations, peripherals, and software to meet user requirements.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff for further assistance.
  • Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees, utilizing standard hardware, images, and software.
  • Assign users and computers to appropriate groups in Active Directory.
  • Provide timely support for Microsoft 365 suite of apps and services.
  • Perform workstation hardware and software upgrades as required to maintain optimal performance.
  • Set up and support users of boardroom video conference/presentation equipment.
  • Maintain network user and email accounts.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Certificate in Information Systems, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum four years of relevant technical experience, with preference given to those with law firm experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows 10 Pro, Windows 11 Pro, Office 2016, and Office 365.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2012 and 2016 (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, RDP, and DHCP).
  • WSUS.
  • Microsoft 365 Exchange online and on-prem Exchange Server.
  • Awareness of VMWare ESXi Virtualized Server Environment.
  • Basic TCP/IP networking knowledge.
  • Highly organized, with strong time management skills and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Self-motivated, with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
