Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Analyst to join our team at Optimum General Inc. in Montreal. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring alignment between business needs and implemented solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and Technology Evolution
    • Participate in regular meetings with cross-functional teams to prioritize support requests, communicate progress, and plan deliveries.
    • Coordinate between operations teams and IT development teams to ensure business needs are well-expressed, understood, and handled optimally.
    • Document requests and track progress using project management tools.
    • Ensure requests are relevant and proposed solutions are effective and aligned with user expectations.
    • Develop test scenarios for the IT team and execute acceptance tests.
    • Coordinate with operations teams on testing and assist in drafting complete test plans, if necessary.
    • Analyze and report anomalies to the development team.
    • Inform users of potential impacts of changes on operations.
  • Quick Issue Resolution
    • Address all issues raised following a production launch promptly and ensure patches are deployed quickly.
    • Keep all stakeholders informed of progress and outcomes.
  • Development of Major Projects
    • Review IT team analysis documents and participate in meetings with stakeholders to become familiar with current projects.
    • Assist the IT Director in writing test scenarios and executing acceptance tests.
    • Develop technical procedures for in-house systems and maintain them up to date.
    • Participate in the preparation of technical training, as required.
    • Support users in the use of administrative systems and secure sites.
    • Manage IT equipment inventory and logistics.
    • Open tickets at the help desk and follow up on user requests.
    • Execute bi-annual access review processes for users.
  • Participation in Other Mandates or Special Projects
    • Participate in any other mandates or special projects related to your expertise, assigned by your manager.
Requirements/Skills
  • Experience/Education
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration or management or a relevant field, or a combination of education and experience.
    • Good knowledge of in-house systems, an asset.
    • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
    • Experience in insurance and/or reinsurance.
    • Intermediate knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Excel.
    • Intermediate knowledge of SQL, an asset.
    • LOMA designation(s), an asset.
  • Qualities and Skills
    • Excellent communication skills (French and English, spoken and written).
    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Rigor and attention to detail.
    • Sense of responsibility and autonomy.
    • Understanding of business processes.
    • Ability to identify needs of different internal clients.
