Key Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive and reactive security patrols to ensure the safety and security of our clients and their properties.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies in a professional and timely manner.
• Write clear and concise reports to document incidents and security activities.
• Investigate routine incidents and take necessary steps to prevent future occurrences.
• De-escalate situations involving conflict, aggression, or other challenging behaviors.
• Ensure that users are not loitering or engaging in prohibited activities outside of the pharmacy.
• Control access to the building and maintain a secure environment.
• Keep the entrance to the pharmacy clear for pedestrian traffic.
• Intervene in medical emergencies and provide assistance as needed.
• Liaise with emergency responders, clients, and Paladin management to ensure a coordinated response.
• Monitor surveillance systems to detect and prevent security breaches.
• Provide patient watches and ensure the safety of clients.
• Use verbal and physical intervention as necessary to maintain a secure environment.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C certification from a WSIB-approved vendor.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and flexible environment while maintaining professionalism.
• Candidates with experience working in healthcare and mental health will be given priority.
• Successful completion of the following certifications: Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB), Use of Force (UoF), and Baton.
• Moderate physical activity, standing and walking for long periods of time in outdoor weather conditions.
