Alumni Engagement and Advancement

Assiniboine Community College is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Advancement Officer - Alumni Relations. This role will be responsible for maintaining and working collaboratively with the College's Alumni Association Board of Directors, coordinating a dedicated group of volunteers to help implement alumni-related projects, and implementing and building the Stay Connected program(s) to maintain and build the alumni database.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and work collaboratively with the College's Alumni Association Board of Directors
  • Coordinate a dedicated group of volunteers to help implement alumni-related projects
  • Implement and build the Stay Connected program(s) to maintain and build the alumni database
  • Coordinate all Board meetings; develop agendas and other materials as required
  • Provide assistance to support Board secretary with meeting logistics and minutes as required
  • Manage all alumni-focused events and fundraising initiatives, including the coordination and implementation of the Annual alumni giving campaign
  • Manage a portfolio of alumni donors through a Moves Management structure as appropriate
  • Develop and distribute all alumni-related communications – both electronic and print – including alumni e-news, alumni profiles, and alumni-related stories/articles for the college's Assiniboine Effect magazine
  • Develop funding proposals and related correspondence as appropriate
  • Manage the alumni database as required
  • Contribute to internal and external engagement events and activities in collaboration with various college departments, including graduation committee, staff gathering committee, and new student orientation committee

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education
  • Assiniboine Community College graduate preferred
  • Business-related discipline would be an asset
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered
  • Experience in marketing and sales
  • Client management skills an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are essential
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to work independently are essential
  • Proven track record with managing multiple projects/tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to guard confidentiality
  • Experience working with various roles within an organization
  • Communicating at a very high level necessary
  • A valid driver's license is essential
  • Track record of negotiation experience
  • Familiarity with fundraising techniques
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint are essential
  • Basic skills and experience working with Mailchimp software an asset
  • Experience working with a customer relationship database (CRM) an asset
  • Blackbaud (Raiser's Edge) preferred
  • Must be willing and able to work in a flexible environment
  • Occasional evening and/or weekends
  • Travel will be required
