Medical Device Reprocessing Technician

The Medical Device Reprocessing Technician performs critical cleaning and sterilizing duties to meet the needs of our departmental customers. They follow established policies and procedures of the service and rotate throughout the decontamination area, processing area, and distribution area. Key responsibilities include:
- Processing and sterilizing medical devices to ensure they are safe for use
- Rotating through various areas to meet customer needs and ensure efficient workflow
- Maintaining accurate records and reports to track inventory and workflow
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure seamless communication and workflow
This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be able to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain a high level of productivity.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician. The ideal candidate will have:
- High school graduation or equivalent required
- Successful completion of a recognized medical device reprocessing education program required
- Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician preferred
- Medical device reprocessing experience preferred
- Experience with instrumentation, medical knowledge, and terminology, infection control, and sterile processing practices
- Knowledge of basic infection control and personal safety measures
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift trays and other articles of approximately 25lbs in weight, and the ability to move a rolling weight in excess of 50lbs
- Ability to set priorities and organize workload
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with customers and staff
- Ability to hold in confidence all matters pertaining to MDRD, patients, and staff
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

HoursThis is a long assignment part-time position, working 45 hours bi-weekly. The schedule includes days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Compensation and IncentivesThe successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate of $21.79 - $24.68, depending on experience. In addition, they may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
