Accounts Payable Clerk

Kwantlen Polytechnic University is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:- Process and verify financial documents, including invoices and receipts, to ensure compliance with established accounting principles and university policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers and journals.
- Perform data entry and reconciliation tasks to ensure financial data is accurate and complete.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including senior accounts payable clerks and finance staff, to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of financial processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Completion of the first year of an accounting/business program supplemented with approximately three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Good working knowledge of English (written and verbal).
- Demonstrated working knowledge of integrated finance accounting systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of common PC applications software, such as spreadsheet, database, and word processing.
- Proven ability to communicate courteously and effectively in person, in writing, and over the telephone with a diverse range of individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize, analyze, and resolve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to compose routine and non-routine correspondence and reports.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
