Shipyard Planner Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Shipyard Planner to join our team at Duke Marine Technical Services Canada Inc.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining schedules, work instructions, and resource allocation plans to ensure efficient project execution.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain master facility schedules with resource requirements;
- Collaborate with tendering/estimating groups to assist with schedule development and manning forecasts;
- Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) with budgets by trade;
- Incorporate change orders and rebaseline lines as necessary;
- Collaborate with operations to ensure resource alignment with project objectives;
- Assist in surveying and inspecting marine vessels to create detailed work scopes and accurate schedules;
- Provide 4-week look-ahead resources required;
- Interface between production, project management, and HR to ensure resource understanding and fulfillment;
- Develop work instructions for production execution;
- Develop master Bills of Materials (BOMs) from estimates;
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in planning/scheduling and operations in a ship repair and construction environment;
- Minimum 3+ years of working in a tendering department of a similar-sized shipyard;
- Marine experience in roles requiring a broad understanding of ship repair (estimating, project management, surveying, etc.) considered;
- Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings;
- Understanding of the tendering/estimating process for ship repair and construction;
- Experience with 3D scanning an asset;
- Strong structural, piping, and mechanical background;
- Knowledge of welding processes/techniques and metal fabrication;
- Excellent MS Project and Primavera scheduling knowledge;
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
- PMBOK certification considered an asset;
- Previous Six Sigma training/experience considered an asset;
- Previous project management or managerial experience considered an asset;
