We are a locally owned group of 5 Auto Body Repair Facilities in Central Alberta and are looking for skilled Journeyman Auto Body Technicians & Auto Body Refinishers to join our team as we grow.
As a Collision Repair Specialist - Structural Integrity Expert, you will be responsible for repairing or restoring damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance.
The primary objectives of this role include:
- Reviewing damage reports and estimates of repair cost and planning work to be performed
- Thoroughly examining collision damage and identifying any prior damages overlooked on the QA checklist or related on the supplemental damage sheet
- Performing structural and complete body repairs, including repairing and replacing front end components, body components, doors, and frame and underbody components
- Straightening bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment, hammering out dents, buckles, and other defects using blocks and hammers
- Welding on vehicles with the use of MIG welders and compression spot welders
- Fully dismantling the complete vehicle damaged areas, including blend panel parts, to identify all hidden damages as early in the repair cycle as possible
- Ability to file, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools
- Masking and taping auto body surfaces in preparation for painting, applying primers, and repainting surfaces
- Operating soldering equipment or using plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams
- Restoring vehicles to factory specification (returning the vehicle back to factory/OEM specifications)
- Inspecting repaired vehicles and test-driving vehicles for proper handling
- Capable of reading and comprehending automotive repair procedures
- Able to work with a variety of metals and plastics, as well as glass, electrical, and mechanical parts
- Experience using frame and measuring equipment
- Experience with disassembly and reassembly of vehicles
- Ability and willingness to follow standardized production processes
- Be a great CSN ambassador
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Auto Body Repair and refinishing experience
- Auto Body Collision Red Seal License (preferred but not required) or in a registered apprenticeship program
- Technicians with I-Car and OEM certifications are favorable
- Valid Drivers license required
- Must have own tools, safety footwear
