About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Motor Vehicle Officer 2. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of transportation regulations and a commitment to ensuring road safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify vehicle compliance with transportation regulations and conduct vehicle inspections to ensure safety and mechanical fitness.
  • Interact with the commercial trucking industry to promote safe driving practices and protect highway infrastructure.
  • Conduct vehicle mechanical and document inspections, adhering to Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with National Safety Code requirements and Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance Standards.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus seven years of related experience in commercial transportation, vehicle repair, or vehicle inspection.
  • Appropriate accreditation, such as Red Seal endorsements in truck/bus transport repair and/or automobile service technician certification, plus four years of experience as a journeyperson in that trade.
  • Strong knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Appointment as a Special Constable is necessary, requiring a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and a clean criminal record.
