Job Title: Kinesiologist - Cancer Rehabilitation and Survivorship

Job Summary:

The University Health Network is seeking a highly skilled Kinesiologist to join our Cancer Rehabilitation and Survivorship team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to assess and develop individualized treatment plans that focus on achieving optimal functional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' physical and functional limitations and strengths
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in consultation with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
  • Implement and coordinate treatment plans to improve physical functioning, manage health conditions, and prevent further decline in patients
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and make adjustments as needed
  • Participate in research activities related to kinesiology and interdisciplinary research
  • Contribute to quality improvement and administrative duties to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the working environment

Requirements:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in kinesiology or a recognized equivalent
  • At least 5 years of practical and related experience
  • Experience in managing oncology patients
  • Experience coordinating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team in a multi-site academic healthcare setting is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and creative problem-solving skills
  • Current registration and membership in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (COKO)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (C Level) Heart Saver Plus Canada
  • Membership with the Professional Association (Ontario Kinesiology Association), preferred
