Senior Monitoring Technician

The Senior Monitoring Technician provides construction management on projects of moderate complexity and supervision of assigned department staff. This position performs responsible paraprofessional work to develop and design sophisticated technical traffic data collection systems and monitors construction contractors in all aspects of installation of traffic monitoring data collection equipment while adhering to Department standard, policies and specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Maintains existing traffic count stations and manages the work of traffic monitoring systems and equipment.
- Develops and designs technical traffic data collection systems.
- Monitors construction contractors in all aspects of installation of traffic monitoring data collection equipment.
- Provides technical guidance and coaching to staff.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with a variety of individuals.
- Completion of an Electrical/Electronic/Civil engineering diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience supervising, leading, and training staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a diverse team environment.
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety, Health and Risk Management policies and procedures.
- Experience conducting traffic counts and installing traffic monitoring equipment.
- Excellent written communication skills, ability to maintain accurate records, and prepare associated technical reports.
