Job Summary

">

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Oakwood Manor in Victoria, BC. As a LPN, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to residents, including medication administration, mentoring, and coaching unregulated staff.

Responsibilities

">
  • Develop comprehensive care plans under the direction of the Director of Care or designate to ensure the physical, psychological, and social well-being of residents.">
  • Direct and assist care aides in adhering to established procedures to maintain the highest standard of resident care.">
  • Administer, monitor, and record medication administration while educating residents as needed.">
  • Create and manage nursing care plans and participate in evaluating current and future medical needs.">
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care treatments and inform the Health & Wellness Manager or designate and/or the resident's physician of significant changes in resident conditions.">
  • Provide personal care assistance, nursing procedures, mentorship, and coaching of Health Care Aides.">
  • Collaborate with residents to meet care requirements and communicate concerns to doctors and managers as needed.">
  • Demonstrate ongoing competence utilizing knowledge, skill, judgment, and evidence-based practice in caring for aging adults.">
  • Ensure compliance with provincial continuing care health service standards, legislation, codes, regulations, and employment and safety statutes.">
  • Demonstrate awareness of accident and injury prevention through safe work practices and procedures.">

Qualifications and Experience

">
  • Completion of Nursing diploma from an accredited institution.">
  • Registered with the provincial nursing regulatory body and in good standing.">
  • Experience in a residential care setting preferred.">
  • Demonstrate infection control procedures.">
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors, and operational partners.">
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle multi-resident requests.">
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.">
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and problem solve.">
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.">
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, kneel, and lift 25 pounds.">
  • Display compassion, education, proficiency, and experience while assisting residents.">

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60-$80 per hour, depending on experience, plus benefits such as comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
