Technical Expertise in Fire Alarm Systems

Siemen's Canada Limited seeks a skilled Fire Alarm Systems Technician to join their team. As a key member of the service team, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems. Your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will ensure the safe operation of these critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete annual and system inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Perform installations, verifications, testing, inspections, and repairs on fire alarm systems
  • Equipment installation and panel programming as needed
  • Complete verification and system readings to ensure optimal system operation
  • Submit written service reports covering all aspects of each assignment and activity
  • Participate in the Installation to Service handovers on assigned jobs
  • Work towards project schedules and work packages received from supervisors and project managers
  • Represent the company at customer sites professionally at all times
  • Update site databases to keep records current
  • Make recommendations for improvement or system change
  • Work closely with other teams to maintain customer satisfaction and quality assurance procedures
  • Adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act at all times

Requirements:

  • Minimum College Education in Electronics
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in service and maintenance of fire alarm systems
  • Installation of equipment and panel programming experience
  • Valid CFAA (Canadian Fire Alarm Association) certification
  • Proven diagnostic skills and ability to systematically identify and resolve technical problems
  • Knowledge of IP Networks, C-Cure systems, and MS-Office
  • Customer-focused and good customer relationship building and management skills
  • Self-motivated and calm under pressure
  • Good understanding of Building and Fire codes
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
