Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

At Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team.

Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients, including independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, collaboration and interaction within the healthcare team, and participation in the coordination of patient care and discharge.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing treatments, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Participate in the coordination of patient care and discharge, including communicating with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.
  • Current certification in IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration.
  • Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses and the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in the applicable clinical area.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions

This position requires moderate to heavy physical effort and may involve rotating shifts and weekends.
