Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients, including independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, collaboration and interaction within the healthcare team, and participation in the coordination of patient care and discharge.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including vital signs, wound care, and medication administration.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medical treatments, including medications and therapies.
  • Participate in the coordination of patient care and discharge planning.
  • Document patient information and progress in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.
  • Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
  • Certification in IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements.
  • Knowledge of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses and the Licensed Practical Nurses Act.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the applicable clinical area.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
