Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

At Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients, including independent nursing services and administration of prescribed medical treatments.
  • Collaborate and interact with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and discharge.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/facility/unit.
  • Meet the requirements for recent, related experience in the applicable clinical area, or preference for such experience.
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program required.
  • Maintain and provide proof of active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
  • Obtain Certification in IV Therapy; IV Medication Administration.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses, College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses, and Scope of practice as documented in the Licensed Practical Nurses Act.
  • Develop and maintain effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Prioritize care for an individual patient or group of patients.
  • Delegate care appropriately and monitor outcomes of delegated care.
  • Respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.
  • Recognize and pursue self-development opportunities.
  • Perform independently and as a member of the healthcare team.
  • Adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • Maintain concentration with frequent interruptions.
  • Function in a demanding and stressful environment.
  • Proficient with computers, software programs, and applications such as Windows and Word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Requirements:
  • Good physical and mental health.
  • Rotating shifts and weekends may be required.
