Project Director

At Arcadis, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Director to join our Mobility Global Business Area in Canada. As a Project Director, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of projects to meet time, quality, budgetary, and health and safety targets.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide sound and effective leadership to the project team, providing direction and technical advice, and leading by example to achieve company goals and championing a quality culture.
- Communicate with team members to ensure that they understand and become engaged with the project strategy, brief, and client requirements.
- Develop and manage the Project Programme and obtain the buy-in of all stakeholders.
- Ensure that effective financial and project management controls are in place and deployed to enable monitoring, modification, and forecasting as appropriate.
- Maintain an overview of the commercial aspects of the project (contract, invoicing, debt, client management).
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure that all parties are kept informed on all relevant matters impacting and influencing projects.
- Manage the acquisition, deployment, and management of resources for the project to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Direct the assessment, selection, and management of suppliers, sub-consultants, and contractors associated with projects.
- Drive project performance, service delivery, and technical and commercial outcomes and undertake reviews, ensuring client delivery is above expectation.
- Ensure that completed engineering and documentation work is reviewed for technical, Arcadis, and client compliance.
- Ensure risks are proactively identified, assessed, and managed to avoid adverse impacts on the project.
- Review the performance of team members and develop them to their full potential.
- Bachelor's University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- 15+ years of Project Management experience as well as 10+ years of Transportation Engineering.
- Postgraduate qualifications in business, finance, or project management related areas an advantage.
- Sound commercial background, including familiarity with contractual conditions and procedures, including international conditions and the ability to take commercial responsibility for a project.
