At Ontario Power Generation, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Control Specialist to join our Renewable Generation & Corporate Project Team. This dynamic role will be responsible for managing project controls for large-scale renewable energy projects, including schedule development, cost estimates, risk management, and scope control.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project controls principles, theories, and concepts, as well as extensive experience with cost management software and similar tools for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Proficiency in EcoSys is an asset.

Key Accountabilities
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and drive the Front-End Planning Process.
  • Provide business units support in developing, maintaining, and updating project cost baselines and budgets in collaboration with project managers and finance teams.
  • Collaborate with project managers to address variances, adjusting project plans and budgets as needed to maintain financial control.
  • Set up applicable source systems (AS9, EcoSys, ePMX etc.) as required and ensure alignment with project control systems throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate project metrics reporting and variance analysis. Identify actual and potential deviations from the approved annual, release or life cycle-budgets or schedules to the Project Manager. Recommend corrective actions.
