Major Gifts Officer

YMCA of Greater Vancouver is seeking a highly skilled Major Gifts Officer to join our Fund Development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing our major gift program, cultivating relationships with existing major gift prospects, and identifying new prospects.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a written donor strategy and relationship record for select major gift prospects.
- Communicate with portfolio through face-to-face cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship meetings, and written strategies.
- Participate in prospect clearance and ensure that each major donor and prospect has a clear strategy and timeline for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Work collaboratively with program staff and members of the fund development department to understand key program and capital projects that require priority fundraising.
- Develop and maintain a detailed campaign plan and calendar to achieve campaign goals.
- Manage and adjust the work plan and calendar as needed, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of major programmatic initiatives.
- Research, identify, and secure grants from foundations, and prepare customized solicitation strategies targeting organizational program objectives and donor interests.
- University degree in a related field.
- 5 years of related experience.
- Exceptional written, listening, and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of CRA regulations and laws in relation to donor and foundation compliance.
- Proven team player with sensitively tuned interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Internet, Google Mail, and Raiser's Edge.
