Strategic Development Officer

Job Summary

As a key member of the Corporate and Foundations Relations team at UBC, you will play a critical role in administering fundraising programs, including research, developing strategy, preparing proposals, and stewardship. Your primary objective will be to raise an average minimum of $0.75-1.5M annually through mid-level giving and managing a portfolio of corporate and foundation donors who give in the $10,000 to $50,000 range.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a plan for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift prospects and donors;
  • Develop and implement strategies for closing major gift solicitations and coordinate staffing for major gift solicitations;
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects (75-125) making face-to-face visits (100-125 annually) for the purpose of discovery, cultivation, and solicitation strategies for major gift prospects;
  • Develop proposals and work with donors to generate gifts for priority projects, with an expectation to make solicitations (20-25 annually) at the major gift level;
  • Ensure that appropriate donor recognition, acknowledgment, and stewardship programs are in place;
  • Generate donor/prospect solicitation materials and correspondence;
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant discipline;
  • Minimum of three years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience;
