Based in Downtown Toronto, this role offers a unique opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team, providing financial disclosure and accounting-related securities expertise.

About the Role

This position requires reviewing prospectuses, exempt market activities, and continuous disclosure filings by public companies to assess market participants' compliance with securities law. You will work on applications for discretionary relief from securities legislation and adapt regulatory principles to industry trends and emerging issues. Effective communication and stakeholder relationship development are crucial in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviewing and assessing prospectuses, exempt market activities, and continuous disclosure filings to ensure compliance with securities law.
  • Working on applications for discretionary relief from securities legislation and adapting regulatory principles to industry trends and emerging issues.
  • Developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships through regular interactions with companies, their advisors, counsel, and representatives from other provincial securities and international regulators.
  • Participating in projects or reviews that impact public or private markets.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a Chartered Accountant (CA) designation and 3-5 years of post-CA designation relevant experience in conducting external audits. Knowledge of the securities industry and accounting standards (IFRS) is an asset. You should demonstrate the ability to establish collaborative working relationships and engage with internal and external stakeholders, balancing regulatory objectives with practical business considerations.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is $115,000 per year, depending on experience. This offer includes a competitive compensation package and opportunities for growth and professional development.
