Job Title: Preschool Mental Health Consultant

We are seeking an experienced preschool mental health consultant to join our team at the Early Childhood Mental Health Program. As a consultant, you will provide culturally sensitive mental health services to young children and their families in Contra Costa County.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consultation services to preschool and daycare directors, site supervisors, teachers, and families to support young children who are exhibiting behavioral difficulties or need additional support.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement culturally sensitive mental health services for children birth to five.
  • Work with families to address the impact of trauma, migration, domestic and community violence, economic hardship, substance abuse, and maternal depression on young children.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, social welfare, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
  • Five years' experience working in a preschool or daycare setting and/or providing therapy services to young children and their families.
  • Holder of a California driver's license in good standing and access to a reliable automobile with the legally required minimum insurance coverage.
  • Must submit to fingerprinting and be cleared by the California Department of Justice and the FBI for criminal and child abuse background checks.
Preferred Skills:
  • Master's Degree
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish
