Fraser Health Authority is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Abbotsford Regional Hospital in Abbotsford, BC.
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory therapy, assisting with in-service education, and providing input into program development.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions, and follow-ups as related to respiratory therapy, including assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and providing support for mechanical ventilation.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including reports, records, and workload statistics, according to established departmental standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care goals, therapeutic strategies, and program-related issues.
- Monitor and perform maintenance, cleaning, calibration, evaluation, and quality control of respiratory and related equipment, and report supply needs as required.
- Contribute to quality improvement activities, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of written procedures and standards, and the development of assessment forms and patient materials.
- Provide in-service education as required, and participate in meetings and departmental committees to contribute to problem identification and resolution.
- Participate in Respiratory Therapy student education and various in-services for staff and the community as required.
Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care credentialing exam, and eligibility for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) are required.
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Level C, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification are also required.
