Job Summary

Fraser Health Authority is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist I to join our team at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients, including assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and providing support for mechanical ventilation.

Responsibilities

- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions, and follow-ups related to respiratory therapy.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including reports, records, and workload statistics, according to established departmental standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care goals, therapeutic/diagnostic strategies, and program-related issues.
- Monitor and perform required maintenance, cleaning, calibration, evaluation, and quality control of respiratory and related equipment.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of written procedures and standards.
- Provide in-service education as required.

Qualifications

- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care credentialing exam.
- Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
