About the RoleAs a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory therapy. This will include assisting with in-service education, providing input into program development, and participating in the interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care goals, therapeutic/diagnostic strategies, and program-related issues.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions, and follow-ups as related to respiratory therapy, including assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and providing support for initiating/maintaining mechanical ventilation support of adults, children, and infants.
- Maintain documentation by ensuring reports, records, and workload statistics are complete and accurate according to established departmental standards.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, such as developing, implementing, and evaluating written procedures and standards, and developing assessment forms and patient materials.
- Provide in-service education as required and participate in meetings and departmental committees, contributing to problem identification and resolution.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Education: Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Experience: Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care credentialing exam. Eligibility: Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT). Certifications: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Level C, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
