Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a mechanical officer on various vessels, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of engines and equipment.
  • Maintain and repair main engines, auxiliary equipment, and other mechanical systems.
  • Operate and maintain electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and refueling equipment.
  • Participate in major mechanical repairs, including dry dock operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Services et maintenance Océan (SMO) team to maintain daily tasks and ensure seamless operations.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and optimize fleet performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Marine Engineer 2nd Class (Motor) certificate.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience at sea as an engineer.
  • Positive leadership skills, with a strong focus on teamwork and communication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Marine Medical Certificate.
  • Restricted Radio Operator Certificate (asset).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Fluency in English and French, with intermediate-level proficiency.
