We are seeking a skilled Marine Engineer to join our team at Océan. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out operations and mechanical maintenance on tugs, dredges, and other ships in our fleet.

Key Challenges:

  • Act as a mechanical officer on various vessels;
  • Maintain the main engine and auxiliary equipment;
  • Operate and maintain electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and refuelling equipment;
  • Operate and maintain refrigeration, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment;
  • Follow up on preventive maintenance system (SINEX) tasks;
  • Operate lifting equipment, dismantle and reassemble machinery, and handle equipment;
  • Participate in major mechanical repairs (dry dock);
  • Check and repair machinery and report on equipment for inspection by regulatory bodies;
  • Apply handover practices during maintenance and operations;
  • Assist the Services et maintenance Océan (SMO) team in the maintenance of daily tasks;
  • Maintain up-to-date health and safety training compliance;
  • Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety, and Environment Management System.

Requirements:

  • Marine Engineer 2nd Class (Motor) certificate;
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience at sea as an engineer;
  • Positive leadership, responsible, autonomous, motivated by teamwork, and punctual;
  • Analytical skills for problem-solving and troubleshooting;
  • Certificate of Competence: MED Basic Safety STCW;
  • Valid Marine Medical Certificate;
  • Certificate of Competence in Lifeboat and rescue boat operations other than fast rescue boats;
  • Advanced Firefighting Techniques Certificate;
  • Restricted Radio Operator Certificate (asset);
  • Availability to travel frequently to the different sites of operation;
  • Ability to work on a computer in a Microsoft Office environment;
  • Languages: intermediate level in French and English, oral and written.
