Medical Support Specialist

Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health is the largest provider of health services in Nova Scotia, with some specialized services also offered to clients throughout Atlantic Canada.
As a Medical Support Specialist, you will be working closely with our team to provide clinical and technical support in pre-operative areas, operating rooms, post anesthesia care units, and other specialty areas within QEII facilities.
About You- You must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists or eligibility for registration is required
- Anesthesia Assistant certification is necessary
- CSRT membership with CCAA designation is considered an asset
- A minimum of two years of experience as a respiratory therapist is preferred
- Previous experience in the operating room area is an asset
- A degree is preferred; previous anesthesia courses are also an asset
- BLS-C (HCP) and ACLS certifications are required
- Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred
The estimated salary for this position is between $40.80-$51.31 per hour.
This is a permanent full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly, including shift work (8, 10, 12 hour shifts), days, nights, and weekends.
