Job Description:
The System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the integrity, functionality, and security of our information systems server and storage environment. This includes overseeing and managing Active Directory, providing technical skills in planning, procurement, implementation, and support of the hospital's IT infrastructure, and acting as a resource to departments and teams across the hospital to support their project initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the integrity, functionality, and security of a highly complex information systems server and storage environment across 2 data centers, servicing three hospital sites and multiple off-site locations.
  • Act as Administrators for our Microsoft Tenant, including Office 365 and Azure/Entra environments.
  • Oversee and manage Active Directory including setting policies, creating automation, testing, and providing senior-level support.
  • Provide technical skills required in the planning, procurement, implementation, and support of the hospital's information technology infrastructure. Act as a resource to departments and teams across the hospital to support their project initiatives.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge of the Information Systems departmental activities and procedures including Operations, Applications, Network, and Telecommunications.
  • Act as key technical leaders in the organization. Possess a solid understanding of ICT operations and be able to implement new projects and requirements.
  • Provide third-level support to the Service Desk team, including guidance and support as requested with installations, upgrades, configurations, testing. Respond to escalations and Code Grey as required.
  • Responsible for the design, implementation, support, and maintenance of all server hardware, operating system software, and application software configurations, monitoring, and storage in both the physical and virtual environment.
  • Create and maintain asset management and technical procedural documentation.
  • Support and maintain back-up operations on all server/storage equipment and all data/applications. Configure and manage disaster recovery vaults and restore processes.
  • Lead the technical evaluation of emerging data centre technologies, including identification of new technologies, assessments, reviews, testing, and pilots. Plan and assist with rollouts.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the departmental strategic plan. Other duties as assigned.
  • Possess project management skills and provide project management for assigned projects, including coordinating with vendors and hospital departments.
  • Responsible for maintaining system security, including patching and vulnerability remediation.
  • Provide after-hours support as part of a rotation. Be available for call-back in urgent and emergency situations.
