Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment. As a Registered Practical Nurse on our 5C Nephro/Neuro unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals with complex renal and stroke issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with acute medical conditions.
  • Coordinate care and facilitate patient transition through the continuum of care.
  • Provide patient and family education, and support factors that impact customer satisfaction.
  • Administer medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
  • Document observations, assessments, and changes in patient condition.
Requirements
  • Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Acute inpatient medicine experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a neurology and/or nephrology environment preferred.
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuing education.
  • Required skills include aseptic technique, suctioning, wound care, and IV insertion.
  • Experience with medication administration required.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with strong public relations and organizational skills.
  • Caring, compassionate attitude with patients, families, and co-workers.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of this position.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
