About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Interventionist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and coordination of clinical treatment programs for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in Psychology and registration/licensure with the appropriate professional regulatory organization. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working with children with behavioral and neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly ASD. They will also have demonstrated knowledge of best practices in intervention for young children with ASD, as well as expertise with the DSM-IV diagnostic system, case management, and psychological testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to promote positive adaptive behaviors, independence, and skills development
  • Collaborate with team members and community partners to provide a holistic, client/family-centered approach
  • Ensure compliance with relevant acts, regulations, and standards
  • Provide supervision and leadership to team members
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members
Requirements
  • Masters in Psychology
  • Registration/licensure with the appropriate professional regulatory organization
  • 2 years previous related experience required
  • Extensive experience working with children with behavioral and neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly ASD
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in intervention for young children with ASD
  • Demonstrated expertise with the DSM-IV diagnostic system, case management, and psychological testing
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and implement treatment plans
  • Previous experience providing supervision
  • Demonstrated leadership skills working within a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Valid Nova Scotia driver's license
  • Competencies in other languages an asset
