About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Interventionist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and coordination of clinical treatment programs for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and registration/licensure with the appropriate professional regulatory organization. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working with children with behavioral and neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly ASD. They will also have demonstrated knowledge of best practices in intervention for young children with ASD and expertise with the DSM-IV diagnostic system, case management, and behavioral management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to promote positive adaptive behaviors, independence, and skills development
  • Collaborate with members of the team and community partners/organizations to provide a holistic, client/family-centered approach
  • Ensure compliance with acts, regulations, and standards with the applicable professional body in Nova Scotia
  • Provide supervision and leadership to team members
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members
Requirements
  • Masters in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Registration/licensure with the appropriate professional regulatory organization
  • 2 years of previous related experience required
  • Extensive experience working with children with behavioral and neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly ASD
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in intervention for young children with ASD
  • Demonstrated expertise with the DSM-IV diagnostic system, case management, and behavioral management
  • Valid Nova Scotia driver's license
  • Competencies in other languages an asset
