District French Immersion Curriculum Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced French Immersion Curriculum Facilitator to join our team at School District #40 (New Westminster). As a key member of our curriculum development team, you will play a vital role in supporting the implementation of high-quality French Immersion programs across our district.
Key Responsibilities- Provide district-level and direct classroom support to educators in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.
- Support competency development in the teaching of the French language, personalized learning, resource selection, social emotional learning, curriculum planning, assessment, and communicating student learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to design and facilitate professional learning opportunities that enhance teaching and learning practices.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the BC curriculum, including Core French and French Immersion programs.
- Collaborate with community partners to promote French second language opportunities and support the development of French Immersion programs.
- Provide leadership and support to the French Advisory Committee and other district initiatives related to French Immersion programs.
- Valid BC Teachers Certificate
- Member of the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch
- Qualified and experienced in French Immersion
- Fully bilingual, with native-like fluency in French and English Language (reading, writing, speaking, listening)
- Undergraduate degree in French Immersion and methodology coursework in teaching French as a second language
- Extensive and successful teaching experience in a variety of classroom settings
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and reporting
- Superior listening, oral, and written communication skills
- Superior work ethic and social emotional competencies, excellent reflective judgement, and commitment to building effective learning communities
- Confidence and proficiency in using instructional organizers, concepts, and strategies that actively engage all students in learning
- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff
- Knowledge of effective literacy and numeracy practices and development
- Knowledge and experience in personalizing learning for all students
- Ability and willingness to work in a technologically rich learning environment
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Search as carried out through the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch
- Commitment to creating a safe and caring learning environment
