About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified French Immersion Teacher to join our team at School District #40 (New Westminster). As a French Immersion Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students in an elementary school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students
  • Utilize effective teaching methods to promote language acquisition and cultural understanding
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive education program
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure student success
Requirements
  • Valid BC Teachers Certificate
  • Member of the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch
  • Qualified/experienced in French Immersion at the Elementary Level
  • Native-like fluency in written and spoken French language
  • Experience teaching French Immersion and/or formal training in French Immersion methodology
  • Knowledge of effective literacy and numeracy practices and development
  • Knowledge and experience in personalizing learning for all students
  • Ability and willingness to work in a technologically rich learning environment
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Search as carried out through the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch
  • Commitment to creating a safe and caring learning environment
