About This Role

We seek a skilled Labor Relations Specialist to lead labor relations for a manufacturing employee group of 500 employees. The ideal candidate will have experience in labor relations in a unionized production environment and a strong interest in design and manufacturing engineering operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage labor relations for the manufacturing group, including grievance committees, labor relations committees, and advisory role in disciplinary management.
  • Interpret and apply the collective agreement.
  • Participate in collective agreement negotiations.
  • Implement action plans, programs, and HR projects to support the strategic objectives of the material engineering, global purchasing, operational excellence, and global health and safety groups.
  • Act as a human resources manager for employees, supervisors, and department heads of the groups served.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources.
  • 10 years of experience as a Labor Relations Specialist.
  • Experience in labor relations in a unionized production environment.
  • Experience in collective agreement negotiation is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing human resources environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and demonstrated ability to exercise professional and emotional maturity and judgment to approach sensitive situations with integrity, diplomacy, tact, and high standards of ethics.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to exercise good judgment and build and maintain relationships with customers at all levels of the business.
  • Mastery of the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
