Job Title: Part-Time Professor

Durham College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a part-time professor in the School of Science, Engineering and Information Technology.

About the Role

This is a part-time position teaching CHEM 1202 – Organic Chemistry Labs. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment, utilizing principles of adult education, and effectively using educational technologies to support learning.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver curriculum that uses appropriate strategies and tools to assess student learning
  • Ensure that course and program curriculum is current and relevant
  • Work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Work effectively with students, the program team, and a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
  • A relevant degree combined with industry credentials (Master's is an asset)
  • A minimum of five years of recent (within the past three years) and relevant work experience
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level with a demonstrated understanding and application of Universal Design for Learning and current assessment methodologies
