Key Responsibilities- Lead and perform work in accordance with Nutrien's policies, programs, and practices, ensuring the implementation of our Culture of Care.
- Collaborate with plant breeders to achieve breeding program goals, utilizing knowledge and best practices to establish a successful nursery field program.
- Operate, repair, and maintain agricultural field and laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Manage field locations, ensuring proper crop rotations, agronomy, pest control, and phytosanitary conditions are maintained to ensure the success of the nursery program.
- Coordinate and participate in daily field nursery operations from planting through harvest, gathering and summarizing experimental data, and reporting findings to plant breeders as necessary.
- Partner with seasonal support staff, demonstrating leadership while training, coaching, and supporting the completion of research work assignments.
- Support contra-season nursery programs, including possible travel to Chile during the winter, and oversee nursery seed inventories, including storage, transportation, and disposal according to defined protocol.
- Liaise with equipment and supplies vendors to determine appropriate program equipment, inputs, and supplies, and coordinate purchase, delivery, and storage as necessary.
- Assist in conducting field tours and communicating relevant information about research programs, leveraging available digital technologies to complete work accurately and efficiently.
