About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the IWK Health Centre. As a member of our Specific Care Clinic, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to children and youth with mental health and addiction needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-centered care that is integrated and compatible with the clinic's goals and objectives.
  • Assess, plan, and implement care for children and youth with mental health and addiction needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless care transitions and communication.
  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
  • Participate in education and consultation services to promote capacity building and evidence-informed practice.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Registered, or eligible to be registered, with Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with children and youth with mental health and addiction needs within a mental health setting.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with children and youth, with clinical experience in Mental Health nursing.
  • CNA Certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing preferred.
  • Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support (BLS) Program within the last 12 months.
