The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our interdisciplinary care team in the Hematology/Oncology/Nephrology service. As a member of our team, you will provide holistic, comprehensive evidence-based care to meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient/family care, promoting, maintaining, or restoring health, preventing illness, injury, and disability, or supporting a peaceful death.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in nursing assessment and care planning
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that prioritize patient goals and needs
  • Engage in critical thinking and clinical judgment to make informed decisions
  • Build professional relationships with other nurses and healthcare team members to support a strong interprofessional team
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Program
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure by the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia
  • 1 year Pediatric experience required
  • Experience in Hematology/Oncology or Nephrology preferred
  • Hematology/Oncology or Nephrology certification or enrollment in the certification process preferred
  • PD dialysis and/or AHPON Chemotherapy Biotherapy Provider Status preferred
  • Current successful completion of CPR Level C Health Care Provider within the last 12 months required
