Registered Nurse, PICU

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team at IWK Health. As a member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide holistic, comprehensive evidence-based care to meet the needs of individuals, families, and/or communities.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in pediatric nursing, with a minimum of two years of full-time medical/surgical nursing experience. Recent critical care experience is preferred, and pediatric/neonatal nursing experience is considered an asset. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
As a Registered Nurse in our PICU, you will be responsible for providing leadership in nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient/family care. You will work collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, focusing on patient/family education, coordination of care, and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities- Provide holistic, comprehensive evidence-based care to meet the needs of individuals, families, and/or communities
- Lead nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient/family care
- Work collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Provide patient/family education, coordination of care, and advocacy
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and decision-making
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Program
- Licensed or eligible for licensure by the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia
- Current successful completion of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (BLS) Program within the last 12 months
- Recent critical care experience preferred
- Pediatric/neonatal nursing experience considered an asset
