Job Title: Youth Support Worker

Join the YMCA of Greater Vancouver team as a Youth Support Worker and make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable youth.

About the Role

The Youth Support Worker provides critical support to youth, aged 12-19, who are at risk of disengaging from education and the community. This role involves working with youth to develop life skills, build confidence, and create a positive future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support youth in achieving their goals
  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to youth, focusing on education, employment, and life skills
  • Collaborate with schools, community agencies, and other organizations to ensure a comprehensive support system for youth
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify areas of need and develop strategies for improvement
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to track progress and outcomes
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field, such as Child and Youth Care, Education, or Social Work
  • 2 years of experience working with vulnerable youth, preferably in a support or counseling role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with youth and families
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
