Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Support Worker to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Vancouver. As a key member of our Youth Transitions Program, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable youth in achieving their educational and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to youth, including case management, counseling, and life skill development.
  • Develop and implement youth-centered plans, workshops, and group activities to promote educational attainment and future success.
  • Collaborate with schools, community agencies, and other organizations to maximize services and resources for participants.
  • Maintain accurate records and data, including participant files and program evaluations.
  • Work within defined program budgets and adhere to all Risk Management and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Child and Youth Care Counselling, Education, Social Work, Recreation Management, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience working directly with vulnerable youth, including client intake and assessment, case management, and workshop facilitation.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle required.
  • Working knowledge of issues related to the social determinants of health, youth development, and trauma-informed practice.
