Job Title: Assistant Store Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Farm Boy. As a key member of our store management team, you will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation and management of the assigned store.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to our customers and team members.
  • Work closely with the Store Manager and Department Managers to execute strategies and achieve business objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective communication plans to lead the team and drive results.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team to achieve business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols.
  • Participate in community events and promote Farm Boy's brand and values.
  • Support the Store Manager in retail operations, including inventory management, ordering, and merchandising.

Requirements:

  • Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in business, plus 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible managerial experience in retail.
  • Successful completion of a Public Health Food Handler certification, Smart Serve plus Level A First Aid and Basic CPR certification, or the commitment to complete within 6 months.
  • Good knowledge of retail industry, food products, and superior standards of quality.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools.
  • Experience in working with various computer software programs, including Microsoft Office.

Work Environment:

  • Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
  • Required to stand and walk for long periods of time during shift.
  • Required to lift, carry, or handle heavy objects.
