Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will assist the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation and management of the store, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Work closely with the Store Manager and Department Managers to execute strategies and achieve business objectives.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing coaching, training, and feedback to ensure excellent performance.
  • Manage store operations, including inventory management, ordering, and merchandising.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols.
  • Participate in community events and promote Farm Boy's brand and values.
  • Support the Store Manager in financial management, including budgeting and forecasting.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a post-secondary education in business or a related field, plus 5-7 years of retail management experience.
  • Successful completion of a Public Health Food Handler certification, Smart Serve, and First Aid certification.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Fluency in English and French is an asset.

Work Environment

  • Working in a fast-paced retail environment, with frequent customer interactions.
  • Standing and walking for long periods, with occasional lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
  • Adapting to temperature changes in the store and in coolers and freezers.
