Job Description
The Ontario Line North – Elevated Guideway and Stations project team is seeking a Legal Counsel with strong experience in the construction industry.
The selected individual will report to the Commercial Director and provide legal leadership and support to Trillium Guideway Partners, a partnership between undisclosed and Amico Major Projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Advising the project team in respect of matters relating to the Development and Master Construction Agreement and legal risk.
- Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing subcontracts and template documents in collaboration with the Procurement department.
- Providing advice regarding the Construction Act.
- Supporting the management of subcontractor litigation and other dispute resolution proceedings.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable insurance requirements in collaboration with commercial and insurance teams.
- Providing support to the construction team in respect of property and permit matters.
- Advising the contract management team in respect of administration of contracts being performed.
- Drafting and reviewing correspondence in support of contract variations and claims.
- Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda.
- Providing training in respect of contract matters and compliance-related topics.
- Being the first point of contact for legal management of regulatory matters affecting the project.
- Liaising with undisclosed's and Amico's Corporate Legal Department and external legal counsel.
