About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated French Immersion Teacher to join our team at Ecole Clearbrook Elementary. As a French Immersion Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the development of a culturally diverse and inclusive school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach French Immersion at the Elementary level, with a focus on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for students.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students, with a strong emphasis on language acquisition and cultural understanding.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective educational program, with a focus on student outcomes and achievement.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in French Immersion education.
Requirements
  • Elementary teacher training with a major/minor in French.
  • Major practicum work in French Immersion at the Primary or Intermediate level.
  • Experience teaching French Immersion at the Elementary level.
  • Eligible for B.C. Certification.
  • Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports.

The Abbotsford School District offers a competitive salary range of $61,838 to $108,458, with placement on the July 1, 2024 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
