About the Role

The Abbotsford School District is seeking a highly qualified and experienced teacher to join our team as a French and Social Studies teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to work with students and contribute to the district's mission of providing a world-class educational experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach French 9, 10, and Social Studies 9 to secondary school students
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in French, History, or a related Social Science
  • Major practicum work in French Immersion
  • Experience teaching junior level students French Immersion at the secondary level
  • Experience utilizing IB assessment practices
  • Experience teaching Social Studies at the Secondary level
  • Eligible for B.C. Certification
  • Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports
